The attempt to penetrate another woman with their own clit, if possible, or rather
using sex toys (e.g. strap-on dildos) is not called "tribadism" today as opposed
to views of the older cultures. This is called "lesbian penetration" today. In
the past however, men believed that the active penetration was impossible for any woman to
do and therefore; all direct contact of the female genitals, including the possible female
clitoral penetration, had been called "tribadism." However today, this is seen
to be different.
